Eligibility Guidelines
HealtheX is open to graduate students currently enrolled at the University of Auckland. The research presented must be original and health-related research with demonstratable translational value to human health. As we know that many students will still be in the data collection stage of their project, preliminary data is perfectly acceptable to present. Scoping reviews are accepted at HealtheX provided that they are original and are a component of the students PhD.
Additionally, a few exceptions apply as listed below:
- Undergraduate students may present research conducted during a research component of their degree (e.g. 5th year Optometry, 4th year Pharmacy) or a summer scholarship programme.
- Honours, and Masters students who are no longer enrolled but have completed their degree in the same calendar year, i.e. 2023.
- Doctoral candidates who have submitted their thesis and completed their oral exam, but have not yet received the “Result of Doctoral Examination” letter confirming they have met the requirements of the Doctor of Philosophy as at 6th September 2024.
Students may only enter HealtheX as individuals. For students who are working in a group project (e.g. 5th Year Optometry students), only one person must be elected to represent the group. The abstract must be submitted by the nominated presenter.
