About HealtheX
HealtheX is a student-organized, University of Auckland-hosted conference and health exposition designed to promote research activity and excellence in presentation among students undertaking health-related research.
Since its inauguration in 2007, HealtheX has gone far beyond the visions of its founders. The organizers’ vision is to recognize and encourage research in health and related fields, and to provide networking opportunities between the participating students and the wider community in which they will ultimately be involved.
Student participation in HealtheX has dramatically increased and features presentations from undergraduate summer students through to doctoral candidates carrying out research in Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Science, Population Health, and other allied health professions. The HealtheX student committee also organizes a presentation skills workshop to prepare students and provide tips on all forms of academic presentations to a range of audiences.
Participating researchers present in one of three formats: an oral, poster, or 3-Minute Elevator Pitch presentation; and each presentation is judged by both academic staff and select students. At the HealtheX Prize Giving Ceremony, prizes are awarded in four categories: Best Doctoral Presentation, Best Non-Doctoral Presentation, Best Poster Presentation, and Best Elevator Pitch Award; each with a top prize, and first and second runner-up.
This year’s 17th annual HealtheX will take place on Friday September the 6th 2024. To keep updated, keep an eye out for emails and follow us on Facebook.
